WhoFundsWho is a browser extension that provides information on the funding and networks of organizations, politicians, experts and researchers. It is primarily intended as a convenient tool that makes this information available exactly when it is most relevant to the user, i.e., when reading about those organizations and people. It is not intended as a definitive and exhaustive reference for this type of information.
The information is mainly sourced from organizations’ websites and annual reports, but also from publicly available databases such as OpenSecrets, as well as from academic and journalistic articles. When the source is not the annual report or website of the donor and/or the recipient, a link to the source is usually provided.
The information typically covers the past few years but may not always be up to date. We aim to update all information annually. At this point (February 2024) most information was gathered in 2022 & 2023.
The information is also not necessarily complete; e.g., an organization may have more donors or be part of more networks than listed here.
Lastly, despite our best efforts, the information may also contain errors. Users should verify the information independently before using it in journalistic or academic articles, presentations, or as a basis for important decisions. WhoFundsWho is not responsible for inaccuracies, omissions, or any reliance placed on the information. Users are encouraged to report errors for correction.
WhoFundsWho‘s mission is to provide transparency about the funding and connections of the organizations and people you read about in the news. We welcome any suggestions, corrections, cooperation and donations to help the project grow and improve.
